How it works:

Neuromuscular Therapy is a comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation techniques that balance the central nervous system (brain, spinal column and nerves) with the structure and form of the musculoskeletal system. NMT is based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system maintains homeostatic balance. These same laws dictate how the central nervous system initiates pain response.

THERE ARE FIVE PRINCIPLES TO NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY:

  1. Postural Distortion

  2. Biomechanical Dysfunctions

  3. Trigger Points

  4. Nerve Compression/Entrapment

  5. Ischemia

Postural Distortion or muscular contraction occurs when there is an imbalance of the musculoskeletal system resulting from movement of the body off the coronal, midsagittal or horizontal planes. When the body tries to compensate in an effort to maintain structural balance, muscle contraction, body distortion, and pain result. For example, lower limb-length inequality can cause a tilted pelvis, which usually results in a compensatory scoliosis that is maintained by sustained muscular effort.

Biomechanical Dysfunction is an imbalance of the musculoskeletal system resulting in faulty movement patterns. Repetitive strain of certain soft tissue result in adapted movement patterns that become muscular “habits” and must be reeducated.

Trigger Points occur when nerves fire impulses at a rapid speed into an area of the body other than that which has been traumatized. Because of trigger points, the cause of serious pain may often be far from the actual site of the pain. This, in turn, inhibits proper blood flow, which causes ischemia and often leads to more pain and discomfort.

Nerve Compression and Entrapment is pressure on a nerve by bone, cartilage or soft tissue. The role of the soft tissues in nerve compression is vital. Failure to treat the associated soft tissue often treats the symptoms without eliminating the cause of the pain. Nerve entrapment is the most common type of pain and always causes ischemia. Ignored, it can produce associated trigger points.

Ischemia is a lack of blood supply to the soft tissues, which causes them to be very sensitive touch.

Are you ready to feel held and participate more fully in your healing process?

NOTES ON PAIN

There are 3 types of pain:

  • Pain entering the body (stubbing toes, fall, accident, verbal, physical trauma)

  • Stored pain (tissues, joints, bones, organs)

  • Pain leaving the body (hurts good, lessening of pressure, emotional release, laughter, deep breaths, a sense of lightness, expansion)

Pain is a sensation accompanied by a motor intention to withdraw. The sympathetic nervous system is a response; a protective mechanism. Through neuromuscular and energetic techniques, we can unravel the places where the nervous system was impacted and help disperse and release the pain, ultimately reducing suffering.

HOW DO I HELP?

My focus is directly on the nervous system. I communicate directly with the muscle > nerve > brain > nerve > muscle connection. I aim to create as much space as possible for the body to experience the freedom it needs to communicate with itself to heal. This is done by releasing stored pain in the body and igniting awareness in the clients mindset to holding patterns so they can sense and feel the pain leaving their body.

Through the work, I help reduce fear, anger, anxiety, hopelessness, self loathing. I help enhance gratitude, hopefulness, connection and balance. I leave clients feeling Wow’d, Speechless, Aligned and Expansive.

Are you open to greater awareness and change?

THE CONVERGENCE OF SCIENCE AND MAGIC

The study of Quantum Physics and Epigenetics fully supports the law of attraction and miraculous change. Whatever your environment is, will dictate your energy.  Likewise, if you change your energy, you can change your environment.

“How do I change my mindset? How do I change my environment?”

You have to change your internal environment. So in the case of transforming pain, trauma and illness, my sessions help open you up to this process. When you begin to embody these changes, you can start moving through blockages of your nervous system, and repetitive patterns that hold you back from healing. This is where I hold space for you, and guide you. And this is often why people leave with a sense of awe, alignment and expansiveness, where words have no meaning.

THE EXPERIENCE

Every session with me will be a different experience, depending on where you are that day. I always start by tapping into subtle energy, which creates a space for you to open up, surrender, trust, and feel universal support to let go of pain and trauma. Sometimes, we will work on strictly physical issues with manual manipulation or soft tissue release. My ultimate goal is to connect you with energy that affects change both internally and externally so you can reduce suffering, align with your soul, and know what that FEELS like.

It all starts with setting an appointment.
